Please join us this October for Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM) to commemorate and honor victims, survivors, and their families. First observed in 1981, DVAM is held every October to raise awareness and collectively unite to end the epidemic of domestic violence. 2020 has been difficult for all of us, but especially for those experiencing abuse. Since the onset of the pandemic, domestic violence rates have surged in Clark County. Requests for SafeNest services have increased by 150% and the level of abuse has escalated as stay-at-home orders are lifted and individuals and families struggle to stay afloat amid the continuing economic fallout due to COVID-19. SafeNest is launching the #YouMatter campaign this month to engage everyone in support of survivors and their families. Use your voice and your platforms to be a part of the solution. Talk to your kids about healthy relationships, engage your workplace, learn about bystander intervention and safety planning, and help raise funds to support SafeNest as we work diligently to meet the increase in demand for critical prevent, protection and empowerment services. · PLAN A FACEBOOK FUNDRAISER to raise funds in support of SafeNest and over 20,000 survivors who utilize our services annually. Share your fundraising goal with friends and family. Don’t forget to tag us @SafeNestTADC. · INVEST IN THE NEST with a monetary donation at http://weblink.donorperfect.com/InvestinTheNest · POST A SELFIE with our printable #YouMatter sign on FB and tag us @SafeNestTADC. CLICK HERE to print your #YouMatter sign. · TUNE IN to our DVAM #YouMatter FaceBook Live virtual events. · TAKE PART in #GoPurpleNV. Post your selfies and pics in purple and tag @SafeNestTADC, #SafeNestLV, #YouMatter, #GoPurple and #DVAM2020 · REGISTER for the Virtual Run for Hope 5k: http://bit.ly/runforhope5k · START A DONATION DRIVE at your office by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with your contact info and to receive our most updated donation needs, wish and shopping lists. · BECOME a SafeNest First Responder Volunteer. Go to https://safenest.org/volunteer/ for training opportunities and information about the DV Academy. It takes a village and #YouMatter in helping us end the epidemic of domestic violence. Thank you in advance! Although you may never know the names of the SafeNest clients you help, your support changes lives.
THANK YOU for supporting our mission to end the epidemic of domestic violence!
